nihilistic?

The Movie Of Your Life Is Film Noir
So what if you're a little nihilistic at times?Life with meaning is highly over-rated.
Your best movie matches: Sin City, L. A. Confidential, Blade Runner
If Your Life Was a Movie, What Genre Would It Be?

Hmmm am I? I don't see me in any of THOSE movies (being that only one of them can barely scrape into the film noir genre at all) but i won't pass up the chance of actually being a femme fatale ;) LAUREN BACALL woo hoo.
Today i watched a proramme on Wagner. Ok yes he was a little controversial, but it made me think.
Wagner read Shaupenhauer and was intrigued by his theory that human beings are essentially controlled by their desires and that life is a quest for happiness. That is, that was are continually trying to fullfill our basic instincts and desires, which can never be fully satisfied. Shaupenhauer took pessimism to a philosophical level. Wagner took it to a new level by focusing on characters who could only achieve happiness in death (see Tristan and Isolde). Ok, extreme but poignant. We all know the phrase "we always want what we can't have" which works on a similar principle. So, will we ever really be happy?
To top this random post off, here is a corker quote from the almighty Frances McDormand "And I guess that was your accomplice in the woodchipper".
